“Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy
name. For his anger is but for a moment; his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping
may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:4-5
Sometimes it seems as if the terrible times we face will last forever. The end appears so far off we can’t see the tunnel, let alone the light at its end. We fear we have not been worthy of God’s forgiveness and blessings, that we will never be welcomed into His holy presence. The fact that we feel unworthy is what makes us welcome. We must remember that we can never be perfect. God knows this.
God accepts us, for His son paid our debts and laid the path for salvation. For all our worry and despair, we need to remember God is at the end of that tunnel. We’ll rejoice in His glorious countenance and warm embrace. When we most fear we will be lost and alone, we will find ourselves at home in His heavenly kingdom.
