When I look up at your skies, at what your fingers made—the moon and the stars that you set firmly in place—what are human beings that you think about them; what are human beings that you pay attention to them? Psalm 8:3-4
After high school I worked on the pipeline crew for Florida Gas. Our office secretary was a devout Christian who had been raised in a convent. She had many health problems. After one of her hospitalizations, she told me, “God puts you on your back so you can look up.” I would not accuse God of afflicting my gall bladder and putting me on my back last Thursday. However, she had a point about turning to God. As I was looking up, I was amazed again at God’s goodness and Lord’s grace to us all and reminded of God’s many blessings. Serving this wonderful congregation is one of God’s gifts to me. Thank you for your concern, your prayers, and all your expressions of love.
