Sunday morning classes are just one of the opportunities for adult education and fellowship. Classes frequently have service projects which share their love with others. The inter-generational classes extend an open invitation to everyone and invite you to attend regularly or occasionally.

Word Weavers International has a Sarasota group that meets on the fourth Sunday at 2 p.m. While Word Weavers is a Christian-based group, all writers are welcome. Word Weavers has a tried-and-true formula for sharpening the skills of its members, turning out published authors who go on to win acclaim and awards. If you are a writer who is not afraid to critique and be critiqued in an encouraging and non-threatening environment, come join us.

The purpose of the United Methodist Women (UMW) is to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The UMW of First Church have a general meeting once a month October – May.
There are several groups (circles) that meet for fellowship, study, and service projects.
ALL UMW MINISTRIES CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
This ministry provides loving outreach in a myriad of ways, including a baby shower for
Mothers Helping Mothers and Christmas gift bags for homebound church members.
This group makes children’s clothing for Mothers Helping Mothers and knits prayer shawls
which are shared with church family and friends.
Esther Circle supports a young student through COPA. The group also supports Children
First, Resurrection House, and other local charities. As with all of the UMW groups, they
welcome new members.
This ministry emphasizes “people helping people.” Meetings often include experienced
speakers on health and current events.
