In The Narthex and In The New Courtyard Prayer Garden

A columbarium is a respectful place for inurning the ashes of loved ones above ground. From earliest times people have been concerned about their final resting place, especially that it be near the gathering place to their families so that each may he held in lasting, loving remembrance.

First United Methodist Church is establishing a Narthex Columbarium and a Courtyard Prayer Garden Columbarium to serve members of First Church and members of their family. Whether you choose the Courtyard Prayer Garden or the Narthex location you will be within the confines of First Church. Both columbaria will have a seating area for comfortable visits and reflections.

Memorial Prayer Garden Included In New Master Plan

The April Church Conference approved a master plan which included a renovated courtyard. This provides a location for memorials, a prayer garden and a columbarium. As a result, the church is now accepting reservations for niches in the Prayer Garden Columbarium.

What Does a Niche Cost?

Niches in either the Narthex or the Prayer Garden are $1800 for a single or $2000 for a companion. These prices include the engraving and either one or two urns. A Prayer Garden niche may be reserved for a down payment of $500.
